Circuit Description

Another visualization aid in the Hades simulation framework are context sensitive tool-tips. If you rest the mouse cursor over a simulation component (switch, gate, subdesign, etc.) or signal in the Hades schematics viewer for a second, the tool-tips popup-window indicates information about the component or signal. The actual contents of the tool-tip depend on the object at the mouse position, but include at least the object's name and type (class) information.

You can enable or disable tool-tips via the corresponding menu-items. In the editor, select the tool-tips checkbox menu item from the layers menu. In the viewer (applet), bring up the main popup-menu and select view - toggle tool-tips. You can also toggle the tool-tips mode by typing the control+g bindkey on the schematics editor.

Unfortunately, the handling of custom tool-tips on Java Swing user interface components does not work reliable on all Java virtual machines. Also, the tool-tip popup windows can sometimes get in the way, when you want to watch the components and signals hidden beyond a tooltip. Therefore, the default setting is to disable tool-tips.
