ultrasonic range detector ("tapebox", internal clocked)

ultrasonic range detector (

Description

A PIC16-based ultrasonic range detector (tapebox), designed and published in EPE online magazine, November 1999. A local copy of the original article with a full description and detailed build-instructions. Again, this applet uses the internal-clocked FastPic16C84 microcontroller simulation model for higher simulation performance.

As Hades does not (yet) support analog components, it is impossible to model the ultrasonic transmitter, sound reflection, and the receiver and amplifier. Instead, a simple digital delay line is used in the applet to simulate the analog world. Just change the delays of the inverters and the XOR gate to simulate the delay of the actual ultrasonic sound reflection.
