The applet in this chapter integrate the Hades simulation framework with the FreeTTS text-to-speech synthesizer. For the demos, fixed animation sequences are used to drive the simulator, with real-time audio explanations of the ongoing simulation sequence generated by FreeTTS.

Please note that you will need to change some security settings in order to run the demos as applets inside your web-browser; see the first applet page for details. Also note that you can pause and restart the simulations, but you cannot (yet) rewind or fast-forward through the animation sequences.

Despite these shortcomings and the rather low quality of the default 'Kevin' voice, watching and listening to the applets shows the potential of a true multimodal learning environment:
